  1. Amazon has renewed (used, “like-new”) Fire HD 10 & HD 8 tablets fairly cheap. My HD 10 (2023 model, purchased mid-2024) was $85 & my HD 8 (2022 model, purchased 0ct, 2025) was $60. They’re a bit more expensive these dasy, though..

    HD 10: MT8186 8-core CPU, 3GB RAM, 64GB storage, 1200×1920 display, Android 11, FireOS

    HD 8: MT8169A 6-core CPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 800×1200 display, Android 11, FireOS

I didn’t like the FireOS, which forces me to use Amazon’s browser, and keeps me from the YouTube app (b/c they use their own Amazon store, with no access to Google Play store). So I researched and found the Fire Toolbox which let’s me get around the Amazon FireOS and installed the Google Play store, which lets me use the usual browser (Firefox) & install the YouTube app. I use my HD10 when home, and my HD8 when I want portability. Both are fairly slimmed down of all the Amazon software, and the Fire HD tablets are pretty zippy. Together, I get TWO tablets plus their respective protective cases for a little over 1/2 of your $300 spending budget.

  2. You ever tried Teclast products? My family uses nothing else….mainly because I buy them all. Having said that I will not buy crap and my M40 pro has been a solid and robust performer for the last three years at least. On top of that spare parts are cheap and easy to replace….you know kids like to sit on them for some strange reason.

  3. The Alldocube Iplay 70 mini Ultra is fantastic for 280 USD. Snapdraon 7+ Gen 3, 12gb ram, Great GPU. The thing is literally a emulation beast and can play most android games like Fortnite and Warzone at medium setting 60fps. No headphone jack, mid speakers are the biggest cons (Also no software update) but it does have expandable storage, not that you need it? depends on the user but 256gb should be enough for me, I do have a 64gb SD card (not the biggest) but can come in clutch if I really needed a bit more.
